Antigo regime:nome dado ao conjunto das monarquias absolutistas imperantes na Europa entre os séculos XVI e XVIII,nas quais o clero e a nobreza tinham enormes privilégios.O termo surgiu durante os debates da assembleia Constituinte Francesa,reunida em 1789, a fim de caracterizar o regime que se pretendia extinguir.

Convenção Nacional

Logo após essa vitória aprovou a monarquia,elegeu-se as pessoas uma convenção nacional,isto é,uma assembleia para elaborar uma constituição.A primeira atitude da convenção foi abolir a monarquia e proclamar a republica.

Composta por cerca de 750 deputados,a convenção foi dividida em 3 grupos políticos.
